Once upon a time there was family that my family has been close to my entire life. Their kids and my brother and I grew up together.  Last week, the oldest son of that family tried to take his life.  Over the weekend, the doctors ran tests and found that the only part of his brain even remotely functioning was the stem.  After running more tests yesterday, his family made the very difficult decision of taking him off of medical support.  It was either that or put him in a long-term care facility where he would live in a permanent coma. He passed away this evening. This sucks because I just went through all of this less than two months ago.  

Just have to post to say I'm FINALLY getting over this stupid cold virus that I have been fighting for the last three weeks!  The most annoying part of having small vertigo spells all the time.  I also received my teaching contract for next year.  Although everyone was telling me I would be fine, it just seems like right now, nothing is for sure until you sign that bottom line. I also just had my birthday and got to see The Marriage of Figaro at the opera house and it was absolutely fantastic!!! And this week, I get to get together with my closest friends for the first time in months (stoopid snow!) Things are just looking pretty good right

The last 72 hours have been rather nightmarish.  My cousin, who has had liver trouble over the last few years, took a definite turn for the worst on Wednesday.  She began bleeding internally and we thought we were going to lose her.  Now, she is at the top of the National Transplant list.  But of course, an A+ liver has to become available. It is a weird thing to talk about, how in order for my cousin to live, someone has to die.  It doesn't seem right that that has to happen.  I know that the person who dies would want their liver to be used to help somebody else but it's like making someone else have to go through this pain of losing someo
